E3 - Recent Developments
The Energy Emergencies Executive has developed an Incident Response Plan, which has now been tested as part of two national exercises.
The last test via Exercise Krakatoa has demonstrated the need for continuous review of the plan in order to respond to changes in the structure of the gas industry and gas markets both in the UK and Europe, and the increased threats and uncertainties facing national infrastructures.
As there is growing interdependence between Gas and electricity supplies consideration is being given to merging the GEIEC arrangements with those for electricity to produce a combined Emergency Committee, Review Group and Joint Response Team (JRT).
